MVP Offseason Workouts are a new line of ebooks for young athletes ages 10 – 17 years old. The baseball and basketball titles are currently available, and softball is scheduled to be published by the end of March.
Each title provides a 6 or 9 week guided course for improving skills and getting in shape for the regular season.
“We’ve packaged together 18 guided workouts in each title that will take players’ games to the next level,” said creator Mike O’Halloran, “It’s not just practicing that improves a young athlete, but practicing the right way.”
Each workout is 66 minutes in length with detailed instructions on each activity from warm-ups to cool down. Accompanying each workout is an inspiration story and quote to keep each athlete pumped up for each session. Advice on topics like nutrition, interacting with coaches, the importance of goal-setting and getting the proper rest for your body are also included.
“As a youth basketball coach, parents would frequently approach me towards the end of the season with questions related to summer camps and clinics, AAU teams, and private coaching for their players to help them improve for next year,” O’Halloran said, “And the point that I always tried to make to them was this: don’t under-emphasize the importance of your child just practicing on their own or with friends. Some of the biggest improvements can come from consistent practice of fundamentals on their own.”
“MVP Offseason Workouts are like a backyard summer camp for players,” said O’Halloran, “Because the workouts can be done at home or near home and they take only about an hour, it’s something that kids can commit to and complete. And, importantly, it’s a lot easier on families. There’s no chauffeuring kids around, and the price is right.”
